What a Friday!

Phew! We are completely drained! Our group gave it our all today, 120% and really I think even more than that! Last night we got charged up with over $100 worth of Monsters and it’s a good thing cause we needed it today.
The morning started with a holy ghost filled time of prayer. Then we had some immediate down time. Robert and Tim made a pretend horse and had way too much fun.

Before too long we were off to outreach. And the outreach when described in one word was “INTENSE”! It really was a good 3 hours of running, literally sprinting through the streets of Denton trying to pass out as many fliers as possible before tomorrow comes. My mom (our leader, Emily) compared us to the old time Guerrilla teams! It made me proud! I really gotta hand it to Robert, Tim, Jenna, Connor, Gabby, and Brad because honestly they were racing in extreme heat. We really tackled that job. After the most intense outreach of our lives, which Tim later said “I like the two hour outreaches better”, we headed to my new favorite restaurant FUDDRUCKERS! It is heaven in an air-conditioned building. We ate a delicious lunch and then split up. My group of 4 went to get supplies for tomorrows outreaches while the rest of the gang went on more outreach. This time through parking lots and really trying to get the flyers out quicker than a cowboy can wrangle up a cow, in extreme heat.
By the time 6:00 came around we were still outreaching. Breakaway stars at 7:00. We then began a mad race to practice some things before the service, get ready, and be on time for church. We did succeed with some mild bumps along the way. (One man in the church threw our beer bottle away for the “Everything” skit because he didn’t think anyone in the church would need it anymore. Which I can understand his thought process.) By the time church was about to start we were truly drained. Just lifting my hands was tiring. But as time went on, God really began working in that service. At 7:00 there were about 20 people. By the time 7:20 rolled around there were nearly 35 and more kept coming in. The song service was a bit bumpy but it really didn’t matter. God was moving mightily! As the testimonies started being told tears began to flow and you could feel a genuine move of God! Then my dad preached a small sermon using testimonies of converts from the Kenya church before we performed the “Everything” skit. When the main character in the skit called out “Jesus” it was like something broke in the church and the hardest of hard people in that building were softened. Really the only kind of comparison to me, would the best camp service you could think of! Tonight in Breakaway 5 people got saved, 5 people got free from cigarettes, and a whole bunch of people met Jesus! I can tell you one thing when that service ended we were no longer tired. Actually we were ready to party! And we kinda did. We had some good ole’ beat boxing and a rap or two to go along with it. Robert learned to dance from Eric, the man leading Breakaway, and most of the people stayed around for an hour or more just fellow shipping with one another. It was a fantastic day! Oh I can’t wait for tomorrow!

This video is of one fantastic harmonica player. Who wouldn't love song service!

That would be the picture of the $74.16 check from the SHELL GAS STATION - and no we didn't get gas, mostly just Monster - thanks to J.B. and Jake's earlier post.
