She was begging me to video her. She was VERY camera shy! :0)

The Bigger Picture

Tonight was our final service here in Mesa with our Mesa family. Pastor Gould preached a great sermon on Decisions and how they affect your destiny. Before altar call, our team performed the everything skit. Hearts were tender and open to God and we had an awesome altar call. The atmosphere in the service was very annointed and it "sealed" what God has done in us and the church during this week. We have become a team in every sense of the word amongst our teens and with the Mesa church. We would like to take this opportunity to, first off, thank God for what a quality time this has been. And we would also like to thank the Gould's and the Mesa church for treating us so well and joining us as we hit the ground running since we got here (the very, very hot ground). I have enjoyed being here and will never forget what it has done in me personally. -MP
I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of the MESA team....Joel, Taylor T., Taylor L., Trent, Daniel, David, and Brooke. They all stepped it up this week and made the most of this opportunity. This week has encouraged me in the sense that i got to see these teens see "The Bigger Picture" and that what we do is bigger than any one person. I pray that they will never forget the lessons that they learned. Thank you JB & Gail, Pastor Gould & Denise, & the MESA church. This has been an adventure of a lifetime.
-C.P.
The other two pictures are a shining example of how guys can make ANYTHING competitive. This "sport" consisted of running up and down the street using crutches. The winner is who could do it in the fastest time Surprisingly enough, Daniel still whooped up on all them.
Team Caliente is signing off. See you in C.S.!!!!!

Go rockets!

The Fierce Ones in Cortez Park

After passing out 1,000 flyers, and spending numerous hours out in the AZ sun, it was show time. The anticipation was building all day. We spent the morning outreaching and passing out flyers. We had a great crowd turn out for the movie "Facing the Giants", while many others were playing volleyball right behind us. Our teens did the skit "It's Missing" which got a lot of laughs. As people were passing by, we took the opportunity to run out and meet them. Joel prayed with 2 guys that just happened to be in the park and they ended up staying for food after! At nights end, after many technical difficulties (ie. the projector overheating 3 times) we prayed with three people and got to preach the gospel to all around us. It's one thing to pass out flyers, and another to actually see people come that you gave the flyers to! It was a very exciting night and we are thanking God for the fruit we have already seen and for all the seeds that were planted. We are so proud of our team for all the hard work they put into the outreach and for their willingness to be pushed to the limits to see it come to pass. We have seen, first hand, how God never fails to move and how putting vision into action works! -MP:)

Why so serious?

We are just have fun y'all. Relax about the cop stuff.

God DID it!

Round 1:

God really showed himself to us today! When we got to the first park we began setting up in a pavilion across from the playground. There were a few people across at the playground but not many people seemed like they had an interest in any free food, or free entertainment. I know as the time started to come for our first outreach to begin my faith was getting though. Regardless we pressed on. Our leaders went to get supplies from the church and they were still gone as 12:30 rolled around (the time of our outreach) so the group pulled together to start it by ourselves. We gave testimonies, Gabby and Jenna sang their hearts out, Brad and Connor played the drums and piano as fantastically as they possibly could and the rest of us on the side clapped and made it look like a crowd! By the time 1:00 came our leaders were back. By the time 1:45 came the pavilion was jam packed with people. I STILL CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHERE THEY CAME FROM! God really shut down my faith. We began serving hot dogs and watermelon. We did skits, sang songs, had a rapper guy named Dillon come and he sang his heart out. Then at our peak moment Pastor Blake had us do the “Everything” skit. While it is a very impacting skit our group was all a little hesitant because Tim had to dress in 4 more layers (may I add it is over 100 degrees we are soaked with sweat, dirty, and tired), Robert had to put on a heavy cotton robe. And all of us were already dog tired. But Pastor Blake was adiment so we pulled through! We messed up quite a bit but it really didn’t matter. God moved and 10 people gave their lives to Christ. I believe that 9 of the 10 it was their first time too! At 3:00 we were packed up and headed to good ole’ Sonic!

Round 2:

Our next outreach was in the words of a church member “The real ghetto, little girls get snatched up over here like candy!” And I don’t know about you but when I hear it’s the “real ghetto” I get excited! We began setting up our stuff again. They had a hard time with the movie screen but got it up for the most part (they thought). The girls began getting the food ready. And then all the guys went to the courts for basketball. I still don’t know how they did it in that miserable weather but they did. We all pulled through as a team and right before the movie did the “Everything” skit once again. It was hot, but we did good, except when Robert suddenly realized he had to go to the bathroom and started walking off stage during the beginning where he stands behind me and moves his arms. Then he suddenly realized he was playing Jesus in an important skit and came back to finish out moving his legs. One adult and many kids came to the altar after the skit. Then we showed Facing the Giants. In the middle of the movie the screen collapsed and Connor and a man from the church had to stand and hold it up for the remainder of the movie. It appeared that it was only church people there, but there was still a lot of us. But when the altar call was called people kept coming! Again, I really don’t know where they came from! At least 15 people got saved after the movie and many of them said they will be in church this morning!

At the end of the day we were tired, well until we saw that swimming pool and heard our stomachs grumble. We ran across the street to get some snacks Doritos and ranch, microwave pizza and sun chips, almond joy and cheetos. Then the rest of the group (I was out after those Doritos) went swimming.

It was a long, tiring, but very exciting day! We saw a lot of people get saved because of our labor and it really made it all worth it! God proved Himself to me time and time again today! I am so blessed to have been apart of such a rich experience!

The Rundown from the Farmington gangstas!

Someone just commented about being original, so here it is. This is just the first and it took us three days to get it on, so I hope that everyone enjoys it.

Praise God!

Yesssss! What. A. Day! The culmination of all the teams hard work...wow! I am very very very proud of these guys, all the teams. You all are so AWESOME!!
We are dirty sweaty and stinky, but we are so excited. I have to post this comment from Gail, Friday we were gearing up to go out for another outreach, she picks her self up from the chair she was in and says, 'Get ready to go hell everyone!' We all nodded in affirmation and, like champs, plunged into the heat...with FIERCENESS I might add. Gail has really impressed me this trip. Playing in a band, fast songs, Rockin' out songs, altar calls; she is amazing (143), and when she blurted that out I had to chuckle. I sense an overwhelming air of, well, I can't really put it into words other than to say I have seen a growth spurt in the maturity of my team, and I can confidently say I know the other leaders have seen it as well. (Not mentioning what God has done in us.) 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard......'

God, I give you praise for all you're doing, and I express gratitude for your willingness to carry out YOUR perfect will with imperfect beings. You are so so good. I love you.

Watch out folks, the best is yet to come!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Had an amazing turn out for the outreach set for today, though it hit 105. The team was pumped and ready to get the day started. We knew it was going to be hot but the humidity was brutal. Everyone was sweating like crazy but that didn't stop us. We had free root beer floats and chips there at the church while we played and the people were drawn in. We decided to play in the park as well as show the movie so we loaded up the stuff and took off. Once there we had the food and equipment set up and started talking to anyone we saw. People opened up to the Gospel and at least 10 got saved after the concert when we pulled an altar call. Praise God for the outcome!!! We played the movie and people just continued to show up, funny how free food and soda draws people... During the movie a lot of guys were playing basketball right by us and I think five or six gave their lives to Christ. We pulled an altar call once again about half way through the movie and about fifteen to twenty people got saved. From what I understand more people got saved during the outreach so God was really moving today.

SBB reporting here, we went full force today!! Prayer this morning was different. I can't explain it, but I know God's presence fell heavy. Very refreshing.Honestly I had no clue how the turn out would be at all. Didn't know what to anticipate, but we maintained our confidence in God as we did some final outreaching. This week our team got out 2,000 fliers. And let me just say, security in grocery store parking lots are top notch. For real, on their golf carts, they don't play! It felt like a scene from mall cop. We got kicked out of the same parking lot more than a couple of times. We had to go in secret agent style, stashing the fliers in our notebooks when security passed by. We also got chased by security at apartment complexes, bus stops, mall parking lots, mexican store, swap meets... seriously did anyone else have as much trouble with crazy serious security as we did?? That still didn't stop the people from coming out to our movie/bbq outreach. One couple that came found the flier on their car, and brought their family. AND the whole family gave thier lives to Jesus. It was genuine and amazing to see. Praise God!! We had around 200 show up for the movie. Many responding to the fliers left on thier doors or cars. We pulled 3 altar calls, and all together 20 got saved!! Many i spoke with were just waiting for something to happen. Needing something new. Craving for something, and bored with their routine of life. And many were open to the gospel. It truely was an atmosphere of expectancy. This was the most exciting thing of my life! We're super excited to see what service will be like tomorrow. God is moving mightily here in west Phoenix

ps- lots of funny stuff today too much to write but i will say Tanya made a game to get us to be quiet in the van ride while we were lost... long story short 3 fights broke out , we arrived 30 minutes late, and being a "winner" while having to split $5 is cheap
Night y'all
