In the heat of the night!

Another one bites the dust! One night two Watkins!!! This is no joke!

Day two of our stay and we've been busy getting ready for the outreach on Saturday. The heat is intense down here but we're not slowing down for anything. We've been practicing for our hit album "Clutter" so be ready for it when it comes out. God has opened numerous doors for us and people are hungry for Christ here.
Went to Walmart and ran into Team Scorpion who were following us around the store :P. Got some lunch and practiced the skits which took twice as long as expected because Jacob kept making everyone laugh. Came back to the hotel and slept for two hours and then come to find out that the girls got ready in about half the time it took the guys. What a shame...
Pastor Gregory's church is on fire for God and greeted us with open arms tonight at service. Pastor preached on Speaking Life Into the Dry Bones, referring to the prophesy in Ezekiel 37:1-14. At the end we prayed for the sick and one young man was healed completely of back pain! Pastor then prayed for our youth and we took off for taco bell. We had the opportunity to talk to people there about the concert and had one guy saying that he would be there for sure.
Back at the hotel and everyone is passed out so I'm hitting sack myself. What to leave you with this quote from tonight:

"Vision without work is a daydream, Work without vision is a nightmare"

Keep this in mind for the rest of the week see ya...

What we have here is evidence of the hotness! Gross!

JENGA

Church is over tonight. Had a good service. Pastor Gould preached on Jesus' return and how we need to be living as if eternity was on the line. After geting kicked out of the pool, even after begging for leniency, we now find ourselves in the hotel lobby looking at BOGUS posts on the blog and playing Jenga! In picture from left to right...Felicia, Chris, Chris, Marie a/k/a Momma Marie..for this week at least.

The end of the day?

so that thing the guys were up to...... ya Brian and Richard had nerf guns and raided Josh, Evan, Donny, and Jacob it was pretty funny! well Natalie basically told our day so i won't repeat but we decided each of us is going to dance somewhere since Josh did. (maybe chuckie can give us lessons when we get back ) ha ha ha..... anyway we are having a great time and getting a lot of work done.

It's Been a L-O-O-O-O-N-G Day

Today was very, very busy. We were none stop for hours. At six this morning we headed to the church for a very powerful prayer meeting. Then Pastor Kyle showed us the places where we would outreach and we went back to our hotel for breakfast. Before 8 in the morning, Brian and Josh sang a few songs together, the guys kept saying, "Oooh", and Donny talked to his waffle, which caused a few cowboys to say to themselves, "What is up with this guy?". While we waited for a decent time to go on outreach, we played a game called "Apples to Apples". During this game, Kristin fell into the big pink tub unexpectedly and Josh proclaimed that he is a camel (?????).

We headed to outreach at about 10:15. First, we hit a few apartments and then the nearest Good Will (we had to buy some stuff for our skits). While we were leaving the Good Will, Evan purposely slammed his head against the glass door. I think the heat was getting to him. For lunch we went to a place called Church's Chicken. In the afternoon, we went to another apartment building and a trailor park, then covered a whole neighborhood. We caught Brian and Richard going through people's trash, but I think Brian found something cool. ha ha ha. We went to Wal-Mart later and after shopping we put fliers on people's cars and talked to a few about coming to the concert tomorrow night and the BBQ on Saturday.

We went back to the church at 6 for prayer, then service started at 7. Pastor Kyle plays the guitar and sings, while Logan from the Cortez church plays drums. Tonight Pastor Kyle preached on "Getting Dominion". Twenty people were at the church tonight. We gave Evan a hard time all day about not doing his job (taking pictures), but by the end of the service he took three more pictures than Jacob. Good job, Evan.

After the service we went to Applebees with the Blands and Logan. Richard entertained us by doing a dance in front of the restaurant and at one point Brian started singing, with passion, "Stand by Me". I don't think anyone will ever understand why these guys do the things they do.

Well, it is 11 at night and I am soooooo tired! However, the guys are probably up to something weird right now...

Goodnight!

The Dance of the Sobrero!

Day 2 in Denton, Texas!!! It has been an eventful day and it's still goin'! We started the morning off with prayer at the new church building, which is amazing and very ginormous!!! We got our hands and knees scraping the glue off the floors. It seemed that we weren't making any progress at first, but looking back on it, we see now how much progress we really have made!! On top of that we got a nice workout and me and lain got buff!!! lol.....i wish... :) :) :) After admiring our guns, we all hauled over to the Wendy's with Pastor Blake, their youth pastor Paul, and some of the teens girls from the church. So, we shoved our juicy burgers in our starving faces with smiles on our cute little faces. :) :) :) :) :) :) I feel like a beast....or belle....because I finished all of my numbero uno before anyone!! Including all the men!!!! WOW!!! i'm embarassed....but proud all at the same time!!! Before we knew it, we were all back in the van, including me, lain, and connor who got voted to the back of the bus. :)

Wal-mart wasn't ready for team heat. We were on a mission to get as many people as possible to take pictures with Robert while wearing his sombrero. While some people were more than thrilled to join in on our little adventure, others were not so comfortable with it...but we got really really funny pics of the wonderful people who volunteered!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) After being threatened by employees twice and getting lots of pondering looks, we left Wal-Mart with all of our yummy snacks. :) Off to the church! We took our happy little faces to Victory World Outreach and practiced and practiced and played and practiced and played :) Then we walked back to the hotel (only a couple blocks away). Poor Tim and his crippled self. :( We are now in our AIR CONDITIONED hotel rooms getting ready for our first Denton, Texas church service!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Sincerely,
~dont know :) :) :)

¡ Primer día en el trabajo! "First day on the job"

Planting seeds, already seeing fruit! Today we started early with prayer at the church. We then went to the park to plan the outreach. As we speak we are working on the drama skit for sunday. We had a BBQ at the Gould's with an amazing chef who prepared our food to perfection"C.P." It's still hot in Arizona, and i have a feeling it won't change any time soon.

team heat is on fire!

let me just start by saying...we've got some awesome youth! from scraping glue off a cement floor to witnessing and passing out flyers, these teens make the springs church proud. we had a rough night last night, when we first arrived we were told the hotel we booked was in a drug infested area. the kind of place that's great for outreaches, but not for sleeping! so, we drove from hotel to hotel trying to find a place that would take 10 hungry, tired, smelly people for less than $55 per night. we were successful! the super 8 is our home for the week and it's not too shabby either. after finding our home-away-from-home we had pizza and checked out the swimming pool. which is smaller than the church van but bigger than the baptismal. hey, it served its purpose.
so, just to give you a small, short glimpse into my perspective...we have the best teens in the world! they've made me proud today...and there's more days to come...i can't wait!!

Updating:

We spent our first night in Phoenix, and hung out at the pool. Problem was that the pool wasn't much cooler than the air [^(. Had prayer this morning and just stopped practice to grab some chow. Pray that people open up to the Gospel and thank you very much.
