I LOVE PIONEER BOOTCAMP!
We have had such a tremendous week so far! As far as fun, we have definitely made this trip a blast and done some really crazy stuff. But all this “crazy” stuff has only been so fun because we were doing it all together. We really have been a “group” in everything, and the best part is we all like being together. It has been so great getting to know the people in my group in an entirely different light! We have such a strong group!
Tonight was definitely the best night of the trip thus far and I really don’t see how it could be topped. We were able to fellowship with Pastor Blake, Karla, and some other couples in the church. After some delicious food we sat down with Pastor Blake and Karla and were able to ask questions about being the pastor of a pioneer work. While my parents have pastored 2 churches asking Pastor Blake some questions and getting answer kinda pounded in some basic things my parents have always taught me. Many of the things he said really caused me to question “am I doing enough for my end goal, being sent out?” I really am challenged to step it up from this point on. This night laid a good ground work for us to build on in our lives from now on and even covered many things that will help us in our outreach Saturday!
I want to really thank Pastor Blake and the Denton church! I have already been strengthened by this experience more than I could have ever imagined.
Today was also our fun day. We went to a Six Flags water park in Arlington. We were able to spend some time with Kristen, Hope, Will, and Christina. They are an amazing group of teens. Will and Christina have only been in the church since Sunday but are already jumping right in!
We are all pumped for tomorrow and Saturday when we really get to get down to business with the people in this city. We have been constantly witnessing to people in Walmart, Wendys, our hotel, and really everywhere but I can’t wait to start knocking on some doors!
To all our fellow groups: I really love your posts! Chad and Marie, I have been really encouraged by your involvement with teens from Pastor Goulds church! JB and Gail I love your guys little posts here and there you guys continue to excite me! Tony and Tanya you guys seem to be really involved at the church, your pictures make me laugh. And dear old Farmington it seems every time I refresh my page you guys posted again, but they are all posts that are so worthwhile and really show how hard you guys are working! Thank you guys so much for all the pictures and write ups.
This really is an opportunity of a lifetime.

Day Tres for Team Caliente..... Along with our new friends from Mesa, AZ (isha, E.M.,ChrisX2,Bekah, and Cody) ,we made our way to Wet N Wild. We had an exciting and very hot day of fun, food, and WATER!!!! It seemed, as the day went on, that Chad got whiter while Marie got darker. When we got back, we outreached in a local neighborhood near the park where our outreach will be. People were excited and anxious to receive our flyers - who isn't excited when they hear "FREE FOOD"? Tonight was our youth service with the Mesa teens. D. Portnova led the song service and Chad preached on "Determination in living for God". We are so very thankful to Pastor Gould, Miss Denise, and Felicia for the opportunity to be a part of their family. Along with their church, they have welcomed us with open arms and have spoiled us. Seriously, they even let us in their home for a cookout! We would like to thank April and Christina for the DELICIOUS meals. After service, our little Team Caliente family had some bonding time in the van and are now ready to turn in for the night before 12:30 a.m....for once...I'm serious Taylor's and Joel and Daniel!!!! :)
And finally, a note to our team from Chad and Marie.... We love you guys and are so glad to be able to have this experience with you. We have enjoyed every quality and awkward moment thus far :)
Hard Work!
The Farmington Fanatics had yet another long day. We had to be at the church for prayer at 6:30, but we were there early, of course. I was soooooo tired this morning! I got to talk to my parents (I love you guys!). Later this morning we all gathered in Donny and Tiffany's room to make posters for the concert, which we forgot in the van. As usual, Josh, Jacob and Evan started fighting. Two little guys trying to take down one big guy is quite a funny sight. After making posters we practiced a few of our skits in a conference room here, then got ready to go on outreach. On the way out, Donny started witnessing to one of the cleaning ladies. We found out that she is a Christian new to Farmington and looking for a good church, specifically one that believes in speaking in tongues. We invited her out to church, so hopefully she will come. For the morning outreach, we put fliers on all of the cars in the parking lots at the mall, Sam's, and Wal-Mart. After lunch, Donny, Tiffany, Nic, and Evan went shopping for the BBQ with Pastor Kyle while Brian, Josh, Jacob, Richard, Kristin, and I went on outreach in a neighborhood.
When we were finishing up the outreach, we saw a guy break up with his girlfriend. She ran into her house crying. Then, we drove to the mall for a rest stop, and we saw that same guy in the parking lot with a different girl! That jerk made all of us angry! We decided that he is the real dirtyman.
Right before the concert, a few of us went door to door around the park inviting people out. Jacob invited Robin Bland, Pastor Bland's wife, to the concert because he didn't recognize her, so we all had to laugh at that. The concert was really good. The band that came from Cortez sang six songs, including "Love Song" and "Thief" by Third Day and "Slow Fade"by Casting Crowns. The skits that we did were what we call "The Box Skit" (We put Josh in the box) and the "Everything" skit. We were nervous for that, but people told us afterwards that it was really powerful and good.
After the concert we went to McDonald's then hurried to the hotel to go swimming. The water was too cold for me, but the guys played water basketball. On his way to the pool, Nic met a cowboy on a unicycle. Lucky! hahaha
Tomorrow is our Fun Day, which we will spend with the youth from Cortez and Pastor Kyle. I can't wait!
Goodnight! I miss my family!

Hello hello! Ahora we did mucho! (That's right mi espanol had gotten muy bueno) Woke up. Went to breakfast, prayer, and outreached forever in the heat! Just kidding til noontime. We had one of the youth Martha join us. She was truely a blessing, and we had a blast.Today is also our "fun" day. We had lunch at the best mexican restaurant around with Pastor Kirk. Then layered up to go paintballing. We just got back to the hotel. Now getting ready for our youth rally at 7pm. Special guest speaking by Tony and song service being lead by Stephen Richardson. Stephen was so excited when he found out last night that he's been speechless ever since. It should be great!

Had a blast tubing down Salt River today, took almost an hour to get there but it was worth it. The expected temp was to be 110 and the ride would be a little over 2 1/2 hours long. For 15 bucks we each got a tube and a ride to the point of the river that we would begin at. None of us wanted to get in at first cuz it was cold but at that point it was too late to turn back. Oh by the way we had two of the teens come and join us for the trip; Tiana and Danielle, who each just started coming to the church and already built a friendship there. Ate some Pohpaypes, the best chicken in Phoenix!! Heading to the church now to get ready for service so see ya then.
Wonderful Wednesday!
the afternoon was spent working on drama at the church. the Wednesday night service gave us the chance to meet everyone and hear from God. pastor Paul preached on discipleship; be teachable, listen, and act. many were saved and none of us left the same. we can't say enough about how much fun we're already having, and most importantly how much we're learning.
Denton service
for a Wednesday night it was a packed house. we've been told that on Sunday there will probably be standing room only. pastor Paul preached...it was a great service...at least 5 people were saved!!
team heat
this is us in front of the old, smaller building in denton. we had the Wednesday night service here. it's a very nice building...just not as big.
Another day and another soul to be reached. We literally have hit the ground running. Pastor Kyle has us working very hard and these teens are awesome. I harrassed everyone about sun screen and obviously I did not put enough on because I am the only one who got burned. What is that about. They have truly seen the vision and are here to do Gods will. Donny, Brian and I are so blessed to have such an awesome team. Thank you to all who have helped us to be here and enjoy it.We have gotten to know all the teens and what great kids. The quite are talking a lot and of course the ones who talk will not stop. The girls are very out numbered so pray for us. Thanks JB, gail and parents for trusting us and giving us this opportunity. We love and miss you all. Hey JB I want an Acacia Park shirt. Tiffany
I would like to start this blog off by saying how proud of my group I am. They have all stepped up tremendously and are doing what we came to do. We were joking with eachother about doing our jobs and they told me I should do my job. I told them I was doing my job when all of them are doing theirs which they are (Finally Evan, take some pictures). It is so much easier to go on outreach with people that are there to see fruit. Nic talks to everyone when he has fliers in his hands and then kicks himself when he doesn't pray with someone. Jacob goes to every door expecting to pray with them for salvation and the rest of them have such a great passion that it makes me want to work harder. It's a privilege to work for the kingdom of God and I appreciate the opportunity to learn under Donny and Tiffany. I am praying that even with all the preparation and planning that God overwhelms us so that we couldn't even get control back from his spirit if we wanted to. I want to be swept away by God's power so I am never the same. We continue to pray for all of the other groups and pastors and we are expecting great reports. Pray for our fellowship and pray for fruit. We will win.

day 3
last nite was an amazing service. pastor Kyle preached on dominion. Such a good message and powerful preaching, its obvious that he is a product of his father. I told him that there is no question, he is his fathers son. He said yes, and he has the scars to prove it. we left the church last nite fired up. We then took pastor to applebees. a vwo tradition. We met pastor Kyle for prayer this morning. He left us with words of wisdom and encouragement, and a whole lot of fliers. On that note, its about time to go to work. Time to hit the streets and share the gospel. Pray for fruit today.

Wednesday is in the books. From the reports Gail n I have been receiving it seems to have turned out to be a productive day. Farmington Fanatics pounding pavement, the Phoenix trifecta unphased by the heat (except Blake, check video below), and Denton arresting our curiosity with it's postings...it's rated AG. We love you guys out there, keep up the good work, keep up the posts, love God, hate sin. I'm out.

Good evening its T and T... What an amazing day our team worked their booties off. Pastor Kirk and Vania had some construction done to their new building so we cleaned, cleaned and cleaned.(parents if their rooms are a mess at home NO EXCUSE we saw what they can do) We had 2 encounters with security guards you know we are into something good when a rent-a-cop gets called into the situation. I tried schmoozing while Rachel continued to pass out flyer's she got out a few before we had to leave the property(we'll go back tomorrow:) The people in this area are really open and the team is up for anything. Tonight at service our youth really reached out to the people in Pastor Kirks church, as soon as they walked in the door our kids walked over to introduce themselves....We are proud of Alexis and Stephen for sharing what God has done in their lives. Stephen will be leading song service for our youth rally tomorrow (thursday) thank goodness we don't have to dress up, his tennis shoes didn't go well with his church clothes tonight. Can't wait to see his ensemble for Sunday service. Well we are signing off, thank you JB and Gail for this experience. We are making memories and planting seeds. Moms and Dads you are truly blessed with the best.T and T
PS. Short Bus Barbie will be back tomorrow
Do work!
Today we worked! We had breakfast, prayed at the church, and then had an outreach at 8 am. It's so hot here in Phoenix, outreaching in the morning is the only sane choice! Pastor Kirk's church is right next to Department of Economic Sercurity, so there are tons of people around. So many we left 2 people behind to not miss out on a great opportunity to witness and pass out fliers, while the others went to some aparment complexes. After outreach we went to home depot to pick up supplies for the church and had a scavenger hunt to make shopping faster. Team Gloria and Jeremy dominated the other 3 teams by a mile stone. They now have mad bragging rights and a free milkshake sometime soon. Yeayuhh! We then traveled to wal mart to pick up lunch and ran into "The fierce ones". It was quite refreshing to see some fellow youth. After almuerza (that's right my espanol is getting better!) we spent the rest of the day cleaning the church. Tony put his great window cleaning skills to use! We had a great service. Shyy played key board and sang in spanish! Pastor preached on insignificant things being used by God. We met 17 members of the church. We had a great time of fellowship. And finally we went to inn n out for dinner. THE best burgers ever btw. Tomorrow looks like outreaching, paintballing, and a youth rally =D Can't wait!
Just want the parents/followers to know we are having a blast!! At the same time though, really coming to see/learn/experience all that goes on behind the scenes. We want you to also know that we're going full force in all we do! Serving others is such blessing. Whatever it may be from scrubbing blinds to washing windows, being able to be apart of the work God is doing down here in Phoenix is more than satisfying.
