Ok wow so it's been a crazy, wonderful, long, exciting, busy day! Every team member started off today by waking up around 3ish to get to the church on time. We ventured out on our journey close to 5 am, and it began! All the guys(stephen, turray, alexis, & jeremy) were fast asleep on this road trip, but the gals(Gloria, rach, shyy, & tanya) gabbed all the way to Santa Fe! Finally everyone came alive around 9am when we stopped for "lunch" at a gas station parking lot. We only took one wrong turn, but unlike Donny, we got back on course within seconds! So 12 hours later we finally made it to our hotel in Phoenix around 5:15pm. It was 107 degrees! We arrived, unpacked, and excitedly welcomed Pastor Kirk when he arrived to visit with us. We all went and had dinner at the mall. On the way to the food court Shyy made a remarkable discovery. In front of Fizziwigs laying on the floor was Josh Collins! Crazy giraffe stay in Farmington! After dinner (around 8:30ish) Pastor Kirk guided us to see his new church building. EXCITING! It was way nicer than we imagined. I have to say Pastor Dustin and the Vigens did an excellent job at laying in the new tile. After the tour, Pastor Kirk took us across the street (to the nicest gas station i've ever seen) and blessed us all with smoothies. It was like heaven in a cup! Now back at our hotel we had special arrangements made and were allowed to go swimming passed 10. Besides all the helicopter spotlights, we had a blast! Stephen won 3 games of "see who can hold your breathe the longest". We had a cannon ball competition (which i failed horribly at). And not to mention some exercising, dolphin reinactment, cheerleader competition, and baptism dunking practice. Tomorrow will definitely be an exciting day. Breakfast at 6, cleaning supply shopping, and meeting at the church by 7:30 is our morning agenda. We're gonna use our muscles and clean the new church until it's squeaky clean! There was alot of remodeling and new walls put up. We're gonna go in tomorrow and finish up the job. Wipe, scrub, fill tile, sweep, mop, wash windows, we plan on giving this church the works. Thank you to everyone that has helped execute this work. It truely is a blessing,
At the end of the day (or early early morning) we're so grateful to be apart of this all. Being able to see the new church building and Pastor Kirk today really stirred us up. We can't wait to outreach, clean, spread the gospel, and be used by God tomorrow once again.
